General Description:
Under general supervision, assists in planning, directing and coordinating activities for the Sleep Lab programs.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.
Performs and supervises sleep and breathing studies on pediatric and adult patients.
Provides services, timely and efficiently, at appropriate levels to all patients and in all settings served by the department.
Coordinates methodological and systematic gathering and retrieval of patient data.
Performs application of electrodes for sleep parameters.
Obtains results of studies for physicians.
Supervises laboratory staff, and provides educational literature and information to medical students, physicians, nursing staff, and others.
Coordinates services in adult and pediatric/infant sleep lab.
Maintains sleep laboratory equipment.
Assigns duties to the professional and support staff based on patient care needs.
Provides advanced clinical expertise and education to departmental staff members.
Supervises and evaluates work performance in terms of patient clinical records, patient outcomes, customer relations and efficiency/effectiveness of service.
Maintains inventory standards of supplies and equipment.
Directs patient care as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
Must demonstrate analytical skills needed to prepare budget.
Ability to work with others as a team and to ensure quality patient care.
Good computer skills.
