Under the direction of the Chief Strategy & Growth Officer, the Director of Planning Operations serves as the central integrator of planning and execution across the Marketing & Growth Office and collaborates enterprise‑wide to ensure alignment between strategic priorities, operating plans, and execution. This role is responsible for stabilizing planning processes, implementing execution discipline, and ensuring timely delivery of enterprise and board‑level commitments. The Director translates strategy into action through structured planning cadence, execution tracking, and governance, ensuring no critical initiative stalls. Expected to demonstrate transparency, integrity, and consistency in all interactions and to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across the organization.

Enterprise Planning & Integration

  • Owns and operationalizes the annual and rolling planning processes for the Marketing & Growth Office, including planning standards, timelines, deliverables, and refresh cycles.

  • Integrates planning across strategy, partnerships, community programming, clinical and service line growth, internal communications, patient acquisition, and market intelligence.

  • Eliminates siloed planning by ensuring a single, aligned enterprise roadmap and clear prioritization of initiatives.
     

Execution Management & Accountability

  • Designs, builds, and manages a centralized execution dashboard with weekly and monthly cadence.

  • Tracks all critical Marketing & Growth initiatives, milestones, dependencies, risks, and outcomes.

  • Drives execution discipline by holding leaders accountable for commitments and deliverables.

  • Proactively identifies and escalates risks, delays, and decision points to executive leadership.
     

Board & Executive Deliverables

  • Ensures readiness and accuracy of all board‑level materials related to strategic initiatives, partnerships, and major external‑facing milestones.

  • Coordinates inputs across functions and ensures consistency of narrative, data, and messaging.

  • Drives executive clarity and alignment prior to board and executive presentations.
     

Operating Cadence & Governance

  • Designs and leads the Marketing & Growth Office operating rhythm, including:

    • Weekly initiative review meetings

    • Monthly performance and execution reviews

    • Quarterly strategic updates

  • Establishes governance structures for prioritization, decision‑making, and trade‑offs.

  • Ensures follow‑through and documentation of decisions and action items.
     

Cross‑Functional Leadership

  • Partners collaboratively with Finance, Operations, Clinical Leadership, Human Resources, Nursing, and Physician Leadership.

  • Acts as a neutral enterprise integrator, balancing competing priorities and perspectives.

  • Builds trusted relationships that enable alignment, accountability, and momentum across functions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related required.

Experience

  • At least 8 years of experience in strategic planning, operations, or enterprise planning roles.

  • At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong execution‑oriented leadership mindset with a demonstrated ability to translate strategy into measurable outcomes.

  • Exceptional ability to operate in environments with ambiguity, competing priorities, and organizational complexity.

  • Executive presence with the confidence and credibility to challenge, influence, and align senior leaders.

  • Systems thinker with the ability to connect strategy, finance, operations, and execution.

  • Advanced planning, prioritization, and follow‑through capabilities.

  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.

  • High level of integrity, judgment, and discretion when handling sensitive enterprise initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed organizations; healthcare experience strongly preferred.

  • Proven ability to drive execution across multiple stakeholders without direct line authority.

  • Demonstrated ability to support C‑suite leaders and board‑level planning, reporting, and deliverables.
