General Description:
Under general direction, handles day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Specialist team and performs a variety of multi-craft functions in and around the hospital complex.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.
- Coordinates work order scheduling.
- Ensures that work schedules are covered which may include filling in for a team member who is off work.
- Assists with oversight to ensure that work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Maintains the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems data base.
- Completes and submits supply/material orders for the maintenance team.
- Coordinates required training activities.
- Conducts service quality surveys.
- Develops, recommends and implements new ways to improve customer service.
General Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: None required.
Experience: 2 or more years of experience in building maintenance required. 4 or more years of experience in building maintenance in a lead, senior or supervisory position preferred.
OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: None required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Familiar with regulatory requirements pertinent to health care facilities.
- Knowledge of plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, Pneumatic Tube Systems, medical gases, electrical power, and alarm systems.
- Must always display a strong professional appearance representing the maintenance team in a positive and service oriented manner.
- Good customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
