Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital based clinic to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.

Essential Responsibilities: 

o   Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.

o   Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician order on assigned patients. 

o   Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. 

o   Triage of high-risk patients to determine needed level of care.

o   Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. 

o   Performs and monitors non-stress tests and reports data to providers.

o   Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates and monitors IV fluids and blood products.

o   Performs and evaluates cervical checks.

o   Evaluates and performs wound checks.

o   Delivers patient care competently. 

o   Interacts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the clinic and telephonically.

o   Informs patient and family of clinic procedures. 

o   Makes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. 

o   Delegates tasks to support staff. 

General Responsibilities:

o   Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate from an accredited school school of nursing required.  Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred.

Experience: One (1) year of experience in Women's Health required. Two (2) years of L&D experience preferred.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:  Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).  Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ACLS (American Heart Association) required within 12 months of hire. Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate required within 18 months of hire.  Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 3 months of hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures.  Ability to organize, plan, coordinate and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.  Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Some computer skills.
