Position Title:

General Description: Position is responsible for the supervision of clinical and administrative staff, the investigation of clinical harm events and departmental representation at committees.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Responsible for balancing of workloads of personnel, monitoring compliance with departmental policies, establishing departmental priorities and enforcing a culture of collaboration within the larger organization.
- Conducts annual performance reviews with staff.
- Conducts in-depth clinical review and analysis of reported risk events through chart reviews, provider and staff interviews and consultation with Patient Safety Medical Directors.
- Facilitates Root Cause Analysis meetings and communicates outcomes to appropriate leaders/managers.
- Serves as a department representative and contributing member on various committees.
- Participates in after-hours and weekend call rotation regarding patient safety concerns/events from patients, visitors, physicians and employees in order to facilitate a positive resolution.
- Serves as a resource for providers and staff in areas concerning risk management.
General Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred.
Experience: Four (4) years of clinical nursing experience required.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate Compact RN License (eNLC) required. Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or attainment within 24 months from hire date.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work collaboratively with all groups of people including leadership.
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient safety and risk management principles.
- Proficient with MS Office products.
- Strong analytical, decision making, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work in a challenging, varied, and fast paced environment with multiple high priority deliverables.
