General Description:
The Physician/Provider Builder is responsible for increasing provider involvement in the ongoing optimization of Epic, including prioritization and communication of clinical optimization requests, quarterly upgrades, improvement in usability and accuracy of the EMR, and targeted contributions to improve physician efficiency, proficiency, and satisfaction with Epic. Physician/Provider Builder will participate in all phases of Epic development, from design to build, to testing to release, in partnership with the Health Information systems team and EMR vendor.
Essential Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with clinical stakeholders to understand their workflow needs and translate them into effective Epic solutions.
• Configure and customize Epic modules such as EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient, Orders, Clinical Documentation, and other relevant applications.
• Design and implement clinical decision support tools, order sets, and templates to enhance provider efficiency and patient safety.
• Provide training and support to end-users, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, on the effective use of Epic applications.
• Participate in system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth implementation and ongoing system integrity.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and Epic software updates to inform system enhancements and optimizations.
• Collaborate with other IT teams, including analysts, developers, and project managers, to integrate Epic solutions with other healthcare systems and applications.
• Act as a liaison between clinical users and IT teams to facilitate communication and prioritize system enhancement requests.
• Lead or participate in Epic optimization projects aimed at improving system usability, performance, and user satisfaction.
• Maintain documentation of system configurations, workflows, and user support materials to support ongoing system maintenance and knowledge transfer.
General Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master of Science Degree in Nursing or Physician Asociate Degree required. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) preferred.
Experience: Proven track record of clinical leadership in the enhancement and support of clinical information systems including the electronic health record.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Certification/Accreditation as an Epic Physician Builder within 6 months of hire
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work independently, one-on-one, and as part of a diverse team to deliver high-quality and efficient results.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Broad knowledge of information technology fundamental concepts.
