Patient Flow Coordinator- Jimmy Everest Center

Job Description:

General Description:  Coordinates patient flow through the clinic from check-in to a provider appointment, by maintaining communication with Front Desk, Lab, Clinical Staff, Providers, and Pharmacy.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position. 

  • Anticipates and manages patient movement in the clinic with the available medical staff from all points of entry
  • Works in conjunction with physician and/or team members to prioritize rooming based on patient needs and provider scheduled times
  • Timely communicates patient readiness for treatments to clinical staff/ providers and pharmacy
  • Physician/Provider liaison between provider and patients, to communicate information and delays during appointments
  • Timely answers external and internal phone calls with courteous, helpful service at all times
  • Coordinates communication between entire patient care team during a patient visit
  • Schedules patient appointments, as needed
  • Escorts patients/ families to exam room and / or cleans exam rooms, during no medical assistant availability in clinic
  • Performs PSR job duties, as needed, during clinic downtime
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:  High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a medical clinic setting.

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:  None.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Good Verbal and Written Communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills- able to work effectively with other employees, patients, and external parties
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Good Computer skills
