General Description:
Under administrative direction, this expert-level supervisory position oversees the clinical and non-clinical operations of the unit, as well as, assists in the delivery of specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult, pediatric and/or fetal patient populations for the purpose of aiding medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment and surveillance of simple to complex, and often high-risk conditions, defects and diseases.
Essential Responsibilities:

Maintains the competencies required to perform essential duties and responsibilities of a Level III position.
Utilizing expert-level professional knowledge, abilities, skills and available resources, provides safe, high quality, efficient and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent conditions in a variety of care settings to include, but not limited to: acute inpatient facilities, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic/urgent care centers and remote statewide outreach clinics.
Provides operational and clinical supervision for inpatient, outpatient and remote outreach service locations providing specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services.
Identifies staffing requirements and makes duty assignments based on available staff resources to align staffing with patient population, service demands and productivity targets.
Assists in coordinating and maintaining cost effective resource utilization and maintenance requirements.
Assists in the development, monitoring, data collection and reporting of quality initiatives and outcomes that promote improvements and advances in care and treatment.
Supervises operator and department-level quality control, safety and environment of care checks to maintain compliance with hospital, manufacturer, regulatory and accrediting entity standards.
Collaborates with Manager and Medical Director to develop and implement continuing education and professional development opportunities that sustain and enhance staff competencies.
Provides input and assists in the development, revision and updating of departmental policies, procedures and protocols.
Serves as the department expert and lead preceptor trainer to ensure continuity and consistency the delivery of instruction and mentoring of new or less experienced team members.
Assists in preparing and conducting staff performance counseling, evaluations, and provides personnel action recommendations as appropriate.
Assists department and hospital leadership in maintaining a care environment and workplace culture that promotes a highly-engaged and competent care team that provides superior clinical outcomes and outstanding service experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Associate’s degree or higher, preferred. Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty as defined by the ARDMS, ARRT and/or CCI.
Experience:
Preferred: Four (4) years full-time experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technology professional in the primary specialty, and at least two (2) years full-time experience in one or more post-primary specialties required by the hiring department.
At least 1 of the 4 years of full-time experience must be in a Level III position or equivalent (e.g., Charge or Team Leader).
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:
BLS must be current upon hire. ARDMS, ARRT and/or CCI credentials in the cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialties required by the hiring department must be current upon hire or advancement.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Based on specific assignment, skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, positioning of patients, and medical ethics. Must be able to work as part of a team and follow instructions; must be able to consistently and dependably report to work as scheduled. Ability to be sensitive to patients’ physical and psychological needs. Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes. Ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information and exercise sound judgment. Must be able to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations. Must possess ability to understand various operations, policies, and procedures. Ability to work and communicate with staff, patients and their families, and meet their needs in a professional, polite, courteous, compassionate, and cooperative manner. Must display a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently. Ability to work with minimum supervision and demonstrate attention to detail.
Core to expert-level knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology; cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies and terminology. Ability to instruct and apply core to expert-level theory, practices and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze and annotate study data and procedure documentation independently. Knowledge of the standards and principles of first line leadership. Strong leadership, decision-making and team building skills. Ability to develop and maintain effective interpersonal and working relationships with others in multiple levels of the organization. Skills in planning, organizing and supervising routine clinical and non-clinical services or support operations. Knowledge of supervisory functions to include but not limited to scheduling, records management, and resource utilization. Ability to prepare and maintain written and electronic clinical and non-clinical data and reports.
