General Description:

Will be responsible for communicating and coordinating programmatic workflows and opportunities with system, hospital, partner sites, and community stakeholders to provide care for the stroke patient population.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates patient care throughout the continuum of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Responding to and supporting provision of excellent emergent acute stroke care.
  • Providing both formal and informal bedside education to ensure clinical competency in assessment and delivery of acute stroke care.
  • Supports leadership and providers in committee meetings, process improvement projects and gathering of relevant data for analysis and report out.
  • Developing and ensuring appropriate use of patient education materials
  • Analyzing quality performance data and performing gap analyses to explore and clarify areas for performance improvement
  • Constructing and presenting stroke system quality reports and proposing organization specific quality goals and outcome measures
  • Supports and/or conducts nursing research to further the body of evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Leading preparation and attainment of certification in collaboration with regulatory and nursing leadership.
     

General Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience as an RN in an acute care setting or One (1) year of acute emergency services

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Knowledge of the principles of supervising staff.
  • Skill in planning and organizing nursing care, applying advanced nursing clinical skills, maintaining records and charts, and preparing written reports.
  • Skilled in maintaining effective working relationships with others. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, procedures and standards.
