This position is for Ambulatory Social Work with either a team of case managers or a team of behavioral health clinicians. Generally responsibilities will be in the clinic/ambulatory setting.

General Description:
Under limited direction, coordinates social work services for OU Health.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the maintenance of standards for social workers.
- Supervises social workers providing services to clients at the hospital and hospital based clinics.
- Assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures to administer social service programs within the hospital.
- Promotes cost effective outcomes and compliance with state and federal guidelines.
- Manages social work staffing to ensure coverage of services.
- Evaluates work performance and effectiveness of assigned staff.
- Ensures staff uses social work processes in accordance with social work standards of practice and patient care needs.
- Provides guidance and monitors staff to achieve appropriate outcomes for patients.
- Modifies care and coordinates follow-up as needed.
- Assists in determining staffing patterns for the department.
- Assists with interviews and hires staff.
- Supervises, counsels, coaches, guides and assists with the evaluation of staff, follows up on disciplinary action at the direction of the director.
- Represents Case Management/Social Work department on assigned hospital committees.
- Provides services to patients and their families to meet their social and emotional needs as they impact on their medical condition, treatment, recovery, and safe transition from one care environment to another.
- Conducts high social risk case finding and screening.
- At times, compiles statistics and reports concerning areas of responsibilities.
- Acts as a resource to members of the health care team in the identification and assessment of possible victims of abuse and domestic violence.
- Utilizes available information to evaluate the effectiveness of services provided in producing the desired patient outcomes and makes adjustments in care as indicated.
- Acts as a patient advocate for issues related to informed decision making, end of life care, realistic goal setting and appropriate resolution of ethical dilemmas.
General Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work required.
Experience: 4 or more years professional work experience, including 3 to 5 years progressive leadership experience required.
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: Current Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license from Oklahoma State Board of Licensed Social Workers as a Social Worker. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of social and psychological casework plus the supervising of personnel.
- Knowledge of current social and economic conditions, trends and problems.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and arrive at a resolution.
- Ability to evaluate the casework actions of others.
- Able to communicate very technical information in such a way that clients and staff can understand.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills in dealing with clients, families, staff and community workers.
- Good computer skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
